Rural Doctors Foundation Race Day

A fun day out supporting rural and remote communities.

For the many punters who attended the Rural Doctors Foundation Race Day on 30 April, it was a day filled with excitement and laughter. For some, it was mingled with disappointment (particularly when they realised they had not secured the highly coveted Darren Lockyer jersey).  For others, there was the added bonus of being drawn in our raffle with Brian, Tom and Margaret walking away winners.

The cheers from the yabby races were as fever pitched as when track records were broken by the magnificent horses crossing the finish line. Coupled with the mouth-watering food, the squeals of delight from the kids on the jumping castle  and the opportunity to catch up with friends, it was a fantastic atmosphere.

“We raised over $14,000 from generous donations and our raffle,” said Director Dr Michael Rice, a local GP at the Beaudesert Medical Centre. “We are so grateful to Tim Kelly and members of the Hibernian Club for their support and to the community for their giving spirit. The funds raised from the day will improve health outcomes in rural communities.”

The great news is that the 2023 dates have already confirmed and we look forward to seeing you there again next year.
