Ross grew up on, and later operated his family’s grain and cotton farm on the Central Darling Downs. He travelled widely in Queensland’s south-east corner and the eastern seaboard while working in various agribusiness roles including Rural Loans Officer for the Commonwealth Bank.

He began his financial planning career in 2007 and by 2011, the majority of his clients were country doctors. He met many rural doctors while attending medical workshops and conferences. Ross sold his financial planning business in January 2024, and with this spare time, he is supporting Rural Doctors Foundation to help build our financial position and improve our fundraising initiatives.

Previous governance roles include Dalby Agricultural College Board, Chemcert Training Queensland Management Committee, Treasurer of Darling Downs Cotton Growers Inc, Queensland Grain Growers Association (now Agforce) and representing cotton and grain industries on various Queensland Farmers Federation committees.
