Mark joined the Finance, Risk and Investment Committee of Rural Doctors Foundation in 202. He brings a wealth of expertise from a diverse and dynamic career spanning over 15 years in risk and governance across multiple sectors including Government, Defence, Health, Mining and Natural Resources, and more.
Beginning his career with a decade at KPMG in the Governance, Risk, and Controls space, Mark went on to a role as an Associate Partner at Crowe Horwath in Brisbane, specialising in Internal Audit. Mark’s journey in the corporate world continued with a significant role at Great Southern Bank, where he managed audits in technology, corporate services, and strategic projects, occasionally serving as the Head of Internal Audit.
His career trajectory took a turn towards entrepreneurship when he joined his family’s retail business as a General Manager, leading it through a transformational phase that culminated in a successful sale. His entrepreneurial spirit then led him to the tech startup arena as Deputy CEO of a promising startup.
Currently, Mark is deeply engaged as the co-founder of StartRisk, an innovative AI-enabled application focused on risk management with the aim to empower organisations by providing a tool that enhances the capacity of their existing teams to deliver consistent, high-quality risk management reporting.
