Rural Doctors Foundation brings confidential and independent healthcare services directly to select rural communities, making it easier for local health practitioners to access the care they need.
GPs4RuralDocs is a dedicated healthcare service specifically designed for rural doctors, nurses and allied health professionals. It provides access to confidential, independent care outside existing professional and personal relationships.
Delivered by experienced Treating GPs who understand rural practice, the service combines scheduled face-to-face clinics with telehealth consultations, providing convenient access to healthcare while supporting continuity of care.

The service is designed for rural doctors, nurses and allied health professionals who live or work in participating communities.

Looking after your own health can be difficult when you are caring for others. GPs4RuralDocs makes it easier to access confidential healthcare through face-to-face clinics and telehealth consultations delivered by experienced Treating GPs.

AFTER HOURS TELEHEALTH CLINICS
Telehealth clinics are held in Cloncurry, Julia Creek and Mount Isa every third Monday from 6.00pm – 8.00pm.
For all other towns, telehealth is by appointment at a time suitable for both you and your Treating GP.

Telehealth appointments
Continuity of care is a critical part of looking after yourself. While face-to-face clinics provide the opportunity to establish and maintain a relationship with your Treating GP, telehealth appointments ensure ongoing access to care between community visits. Having continuity with the same GP means your doctor understands your health history, circumstances and ongoing needs, allowing for more consistent, personalised and effective healthcare. Our service model combines in-person consultations with telehealth support to help rural health practitioners access timely care without needing to leave their community.
Telehealth consultations help you stay connected with your Treating GP between face-to-face clinic visits, supporting continuity of care and ongoing access to confidential healthcare.
Telehealth Appointments by Arrangement
In participating communities where dedicated after-hours telehealth clinics are not offered, between face-to-face clinic visits, you can arrange telehealth consultations directly with your Treating GP at a mutually convenient time.
