Jason Vaughan
About Jason
Jason Vaughan’s career has taken him across industries, organisations and continents — but his connection to rural health began much closer to home.
Originally from the Hills of Perth in Western Australia, Jason grew up with first‑hand exposure to rural healthcare through his mother’s work in rural GP clinics. That early experience shaped his understanding of regional communities and the vital role doctors play in delivering care, often with limited resources and significant personal commitment. It is a perspective that continues to inform his values and his involvement with Rural Doctors Foundation today.
A Sydney‑based Chartered Accountant, Jason brings more than 25 years of global experience across Australia, the United States, Europe and Asia‑Pacific. His career includes senior leadership roles with internationally recognised organisations such as Starbucks, Infiniti and Allegis Group, where he led complex financial operations, large‑scale transformation programs and enterprise‑wide technology initiatives.

Jason began his career with a Big 4 at KPMG, building deep technical expertise in finance, governance and assurance. Over time, his work evolved to focus on strategic leadership – partnering with boards and executive teams to guide organisations through periods of growth, change and increasing complexity.
Known for his collaborative and considered leadership style, Jason combines financial discipline with a strong understanding of people, culture and organisational design. He has led major ERP implementations, strengthened operational and financial governance, and helped organisations scale sustainably while maintaining accountability and integrity.
Jason first joined Rural Doctors Foundation in 2025 as a member of the Finance, Risk and Investment Committee, where his expertise in financial stewardship and risk management supported the Foundation’s growing scope and impact. In 2026, he was appointed to the Board as a Director and Company Secretary.
