This expansion means that rural doctors and health practitioners in the Roma region will soon have access to confidential, high‑quality healthcare services delivered by Dr John Douyere. John is a highly experienced practitioner who has been providing care to rural and remote communities across Queensland, including Quilpie, Cunnamulla and Charleville, and is well acquainted with the unique challenges faced by those working in these settings.

The Roma service will be delivered as part of John’s established Charleville outreach route. He is particularly excited to extend the same trusted, practitioner‑focused care currently available in Charleville to rural health professionals in Roma, ensuring continuity, accessibility and a deep understanding of local needs.

Dr John Douyere and Rural Doctors Foundation Program Manager, Coral Fuata, will visit health facilities in Roma to meet directly with local health practitioners. These visits will provide an opportunity to discuss the GPs4RuralDocs program in detail, build local connections, and better understand any specific challenges or priorities that should be considered ahead of the program’s official rollout in June 2026.
