Michael Reinke is a Senior Medical Officer and Rural Generalist with advanced skills in obstetrics who has been based at Bowen Hospital since 2013. Michael is a product of the QLD Rural Generalist Pathway. 

Prior to studying medicine, Michael retired as a Wing Commander Engineering Officer after a 27-year career in the Royal Australian Air Force. Michael has raised 3 children in Bowen with each pursuing careers in rural health. He has active volunteer roles in the Bowen Community as Event Direct of Bowen parkrun, a board member of the Murroona Gardens Aged Care Facility since 2016 and an instructor with South Pacific Taekwondo. 

Michael is Immediate Past-president of Rural Doctors Association of Queensland (RDAQ) having served as President from 2021-2022 and on the RDAQ Management Committee since 2018.
