Big Dry Friday

A fun and action packed day supporting rural and remote communities

Big Dry Friday is a day to recognise the importance of rural and regional Australia, to connect city and country and to provide support where it’s needed most.

It was a day filled with mouth-watering food, great company and activities including both a live and silent auction.  There was a panel interview with the major beneficiaries – Rural Aid, Schools Plus, and Outback Futures.  There were stand up presentations by our CEO Fran Avon, QUT and some of the major sponsors.  The highlight of the day is the auction for the mechanical bull riders.  10 bull riders are auctioned and the stakes are high with reputations at risk and bragging rights highly sought after.  This year recorded a first, with a female bull rider putting up her hand!

We are very grateful to Morgans for selecting Rural Doctors Foundation as a beneficiary of this event.  The event raises over $1m each year and promotes the work of charities working to improve the lives of those living in rural and remote communities.
