Our Governance
Ensuring strong governance
Rural Doctors Foundation consists of a volunteer Board of Directors. Directors are active rural doctors and skills-based appointments. See Our People page for details of our directors.
An Executive Committee comprised of the Chair, Deputy Chair, Secretary and Treasurer and a Finance, Risk and Investment Committee support the Board.
The Finance, Risk and Investment Committee review all financial matters and risk issues and provide regular reporting to the Board.
We also have a Grants Committee which reviews all grant applications for grants including our Emergency Relief funding.
Our Executive team ensure that the Board has access to all the information it needs to make informed and robust decisions.
Rural Doctors Foundation maintains close links to Rural Doctors Association of Queensland (RDAQ). The Foundation appoints the immediate Past-president to the Board for a 1-year tenure following their RDAQ presidential term.
Our Constitution sets out our purpose, operation, and decision-making.
The Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission and Australian Taxation Office recognises the Foundation as a deductible gift recipient. Also known as DGR status, we have held this status since 2015.
For a copy of our Constitution or Annual Report, see our Resources page.
At the heart of Rural Doctors Foundation, is a group of people with a love of rural and remote communities.
What drives us is an understanding of need. A passion to support community health. And a commitment to make change.
